What’s this Knockturn Alley blog all about?
Well in a few words it’s about our upcoming record, and the whole process to get it done. We will try to do our best and keep this updated with new info regarding the recording and everything involved for the coming weeks and perhaps months.
For all those who have been following our music for the last few years you might remember our first recording; a 3-track promo CD entitled “The Dream is Dead” which included the tracks “Pitfall to Oblivion”, “Dreading The Day” and “The Apocalypse Conspiracy”. For those who haven’t been following our music and are curious enough to check out what we sounded like back then, check out our myspace page on www.myspace.com/knockturnalley. This was recorded in May 2006 at Temple Studios, Mistra, Malta.
This time we decided to go for a full length album, again recorded at Temple Studios. In the coming weeks we should upload more info like the name of the album, track list and very soon the artwork. For the past months we have been working very hard in order to make it on time with the new songs. Although we played a couple of shows, since James joined the band we were more focused on writing new music which will be featured on our new album.
Last summer we had the opportunity to play at Malta’s biggest metal event of the year, the Extreme Maltese Metal festival with local bands Beheaded, Loathe, Slit together with Greek thrashers The Source and many others. On that night we played one of our latest tracks, This Silence is a Threat which you can find on Youtube.com or just scroll down. It’s not the whole song but should be enough to get an idea until we release the new album.
So, it’s all set. 29th November we will be recording the first part for the album and on the 9th of January 2009 we will be recording the rest which should take us until somewhere close to the end of the month. More updates coming soon plus some video clips from the studio too.
