Ferrum (9/10)
“The guys, in a rare edge over 1.7 metres height gutted the scene of such tricks (be aware, not just the instruments) – they could even teach a circus acrobat. …“The Sinner, The Martyr” – this is cool brutality, dynamics with some melodic fusion while “Bringing Back The Terror” is a real heavy dynamite …After yet another instrumental break comes Medusa – the longest, but not only because it very aptly closes the album. Here in places one may notice weight of doom, though dominated by melody, which also gives way for vocal shifts and instrumental chaos (good sense). Altogether the result is just incredibly charming.” www.ferrum.lt

“…it may well prove to be a wise move, for the five mercenaries from the holiday island’s damn talented. Just take the numbers “Bringing Back The Terror” and title track “Medusa”, where the band really shows that they have a good sense to combine good melodies with glorious brutality.” – heavymetal.dk
Metal Review
“…a respectably energetic, well-structured and admirably produced self-released effort, that shows off a desire to appeal to wide audiences. The songwriting is good, with the few expected moments of legitimately kick ass riffing… “Deadly Twist Of Fate” has a cool groove going on that I’m sure will win over the live crowd with a vengeance, and the eight-minute title track manages to end the album on a progressively sprawling, highly promising note that I wish the rest of the disc contained.” - Metal Review

“These brute Maltese have peaked with American bigshots like Darkest Hour, and Lamb Of God, and they like to turn up both volume and speed …the riff in opening song ‘Under A God-like Sun’ gives a fresh Southern-rock view on Swedish melodic death metal that I had not heard before. On top of that ‘Medusa’ is beautifully packaged and the whole record breathes professionalism. It seems weird that no label has picked this up yet, In the case of Knockturn Alley, this should only be a matter of time.” – Lords of Metal
Metal District (7.5/10)
“…with influences of Metalcore, Melodic Death, Thrash and hardcore elements …The epic “Medusa” builds a magnificent tension …With this bold production, one wonders how come the band has still no record label to be able to draw attention. Knockturn Alley clearly shows that Malta is more than summer, sun, beach. “Medusa” is probably a small pearl, which was ashore waiting for us to enjoy its beauty.” – Metal District

“They move with confidence and ease from one assault Metalcore Thrash Metal and a fairly smooth and rhythm… Reverie, The Sinner-The Martyr and Deadly Twist Of Fate summarize perfectly what are the stylistic movements of Knockturn Alley, that riff is not too fast, but well constructed and full of groove. A compliment must be done even to those who are employed in the specific production, given its high level of professionalism, a quality more than makes Medusa a product in a strong position to compete in today’s market, where a label decides to put money and time.” – EUTK.net

“Melodic Death Metal, Tech Death and Progressive are all terms used in Knockturn Alley shot in the head coming. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, since “Medusa” is, despite some Gothenburg bonds not Melodeath in pure form, also at times so technically sophisticated as Obscura’s ”Cosmo Genesis.” …it is precisely this provocative-between-the-seat the Maltese mix by skillful songwriting to a wonderfully homogenous whole, the combination of hardness and melody…the grand concluding track “Medusa”, so-constructed voltage discharges into the eponymous, 8.5-minute monster that is his name and takes the listener by this mountain and down the old model.” – Vampster
